Not so bad it's good.

People may laugh at this movie, saying "it's so bad it's good". but underneath it all is a really interesting film that has great thematic satire. Verhoeven has this ability to talk about complex and difficult issues through the medium of big loud trashy cinema. It's a shame that it is considered one of the worst movies of all time, because if you scratch the surface it has so many levels.
