Jack Spears

Now, I know a lot of people are probably going to flame me for this! I wouldn't blame them - we all have differing opinions about things!

However, this has to be said! What was the relationship between Jack and Sharpe? It seemed to me to be more than the relationship fellow officers. For one thing, Sharpe doesn't usually get that friendly with the other officers - there's that whole risen-from-the-ranks thing.

This may just be my inner slash fiend, but it looked to me like there was something 'else' there, if you catch my drift! 'Course, it may just be that I found them both hot!

Where did this come from!?! :)

They just got on very well right from the start, their relationship being one more of mutual respect for each other as professional soldiers, rather than 'something else' as you put it.

" For one thing, Sharpe doesn't usually get that friendly with the other officers - there's that whole risen-from-the-ranks thing. "

True, but recall Jack's opening dialogue with Sharpe:
"Oh, just Jack will do. It's a fine honour to shake the hand of the man who saved Wellington's life." - Not the usual bit of snobbery Sharpe would expect to get from a 'gentleman' Officer. I mean how many others have ever treated him as an 'equal'?

Besides I think Frederickson summed it up best in Revenge:
"God Damn you Sharpe! How many women do you want?"

Sharpe had a warm/friendly relationship with the officer who taught h8m to read. Can’t recall the guy’s name.
