perkins' death



I know young perkins die in sharpe's battle, but I've never seen this one , so how did he die?

The death is tragic rather than glorious. He and the other Riflemen are engaged in some ragged and dangerous street fighting with the French on the edge of a courtyard, when he sees men from the unit that they've been attached to. Seeing that they wouldn't be able to make it through the Frenchmen in the courtyard, he runs through the French while the rest of the Chosen Men lay down covering fire.

What Perkins doesn't know is that the men are traitors fighting for the French, and when he grabs ahold of their leader to lead him into the safety of the alleyways the poor guy gets bayoneted in the gut.

I suspect the problem is that you have too many paperclips up your nose
