What happened to the dog?!!!

One minute Lucy Steele is cradling a little white dog in her arms and Fanny is arranging flowers and... feathers. Then she whispers to Fanny the she and Edward are secretly engaged. Then BOOM .. flowers and feathers are flying through the air and Lucy is shoved into a window and having her nose pinched off. But, what happened to the dog?

No it’s a goof. Just rewatched. One second she’s holding a dog, next poof, it disappeared into thin air.

At the last minute Mr. Lee thought better of Lucy throwing the dog in the air and excused it from the scene (they hoped you wouldn't notice).
