the last thing I saw was: kvakers draging demi moore back into the vilage and gary oldman in duvalls room going through ashes looking for some papers.
what then? who raised pearl? who died? what happend!!!???
Hester and Arthur did end up together and raised Pearl, but Pearl's narrative said Arthur died a few years later. That's all I remember because I saw the movie only two times and that's was a while ago. Maybe someone could explain the ending a little more.
