Does anyone think the score in this movie was similar to that of the music in Somewhere in Time? Particularly in the scenes with Arthur and Hester.

I just Googled it, hahaha. I'm right! Apparently John Barry composed the music for both Somewhere in Time and The Scarlet Letter.

I just answered my own question. Feel stupid.

A lot of John Barry's music is similar. He has scored many, many films. However, even though it is similar, it is his signature sound. His music is beautiful.

soooo funny, i just watched this last night... and i was listening to the music and humming the somewhere in time score... but i was like 'what movie is this from"?? then it hit me.... totally similar....

"We're gonna need a bigger boat"....

This film score is one of the last great lush romantic scores from the always excellent John Barry. This, along with Playing By Heart, Indecent Proposal and Enigma remain my favorites. They are all excellent much later work Mr. Barry has composed. It is a shame that he was not much used after Playing By Heart.
To this day, he remains one of my favorite film composers. One should really coin the term Barryesque, you know?
