Ideal cast for an american live action film?
Usagi: I would have to go with Candice Accola as far she might be a bit too old to play 14 but shes still young. I have heard her mentioned before but wasn't that into the idea till I saw this pic on Tumblr http://images2.fanpop.com/image/photos/10800000/Candice-Accola-3-candi ce-accola-10806386-594-396.jpg and then I though that is so right her character on the vampire diaries was just the right mix of ditzy selfishness and generosity.
Ami- Jessica liu from awkward. She has the cute short hair and wears funny hats and glasses on that show even though the character is not an intellectual she just strikes me as Ami http://images.wikia.com/awkward/images/2/2a/Ming.jpg
Makoto: Tojan Bellisario from Pretty little liars. Mamoru: Nicholas Hoult is the only guy that comes to mind. I really liked the idea of Ian Somerhalder but hes just too old now. Nicholas is only 22 and he looks younger than that even. http://static.muveez.com/media/nicholashoult.jpg
