My fear...

Since we did not discover that much about the anime on August 4th - but they talked awfully a lot about the new, upcoming Sailor Moon musical - a fear established in my mind.

What if the musical truly is the main attraction and the anime something trivial and underwhelming, let's say, a couple of 5 minute TV segments, or a trailer for the musical, or just a short recap of the classic anime?

I hope I'm wrong and that I will in a few months return here to this board and say: "Luckily, that was just a bad hunch." But something about this secrecy is starting to bug me, as if it might not be such a big thing as we all hope for.

How much money can they even make off of the musical? Not much right?

I am not an expert for Japanese musicals, nor was I able to find some relevant data about its revenue, so I don't know, but I guess the Sailor Moon musicals had to make at least a good deal of money when they went on to have 800 performances. I do hope the musical is not the main attraction, though, and that the new anime will happen.
