Was the American version ever released on DVD?

I own all the uncut, original Japanese with English subtitle DVDs. But I grew up on the American version, and sometimes I miss it so much. I was 6-years-old when I first started watching it, so I'm just a little nostalgic! I used to own some of the english VHS tapes, but I'd love to own the DVDs. I tried looking on Amazon and I can't totally tell what's what.

Does anyone know?

Thanks!

Yes they did. They're on Netflix apparently.

How'd you get the Japanese DVDs?

reply

They most certainly are NOT on Netflix :P If Takeuchi won't even release the rights to let the American dub be sold on DVD again, why would they be on Netflix? haha, no sense.

I loved this show growing up. Where can I buy it? In english obviously, but I loved the series regardless.

reply

Yes! But good luck getting your hands on an official copy because they are very rare. I remember the Sailor Moon DVDs distinctly sitting on the shelves of Tower Records back in the day :] Loved to see them sitting there and torturing me.

I have them...but I'm not sure where they came from. My sister found them online for me. (I looked, but couldn't find them either)

Whether they're legitimate or pirate copies I don't know.

Worst. Rescue. EVER!

The Viz Dub of Sailor Moon its much better than the Dic Dub,but if you really want to watch those eps there are websites you can watch them for free but you have to look for them

I'm gonna show you something beautiful everyone screaming for mercy

reply

The DIC DVDs were released individually so you have to track them down one by one. There was no official box set released.
