Thinking for a 13 year old boy (fan of Far From Heaven), would this acceptable material?

There's a sex scene at the start of the movie, but it's not very explicit. Generally, it's a - thematically - very sophisticated movie that a 13-year-old may not get, but then, if he enjoyed "Far from Heaven"...
It's an interesting counterpoint to "Far from Heaven" - he may find thematic similarities, even if the style is radically different. Read some of the discussion's in the other messages - they'll give you good idea of the intellectual level of the movie.
Sounds like you've got a budding cinephile.

i saw this movie when i was 13 and i loved it!!!! is far from heaven good... i love julianne moore and i am dying to see that movie!! but i think that this movie is appropriate for you.... i am watching it right now.

Doesn't R rating mean that you can't see it in the cinema under 17?

pfff In Holland you could see it if you were 12 years old! And you didn't even have to be 12 to see it! Because they only ask for your ID when it's a 16+ movie.

Yes, but there are no tits in the sex scene and a 13 year old boy is going to be upset about that unless he is gay which he might be if he is a fan of Far from Heaven.

I assume that was irony?

The "sex scene" was hardly worthy of note as such and cannot understand how that gave this film an "R" rating in the States.
