That staggering man... absolutely terrifying

I cannot articulate just how unnerving that staggering man in the field was. I first saw it a few weeks ago and as soon as I saw that man, looking towards the camera from the distance, I was on edge in fear that he would be shown again. Of course, he was. Just creepy. It's scary enough he had become so "allergic" to the perceived irritants in the environemnt that he had to bandage himself to the point of being completely obscured, but the way he moved, frantically, with such obvious anxiety and perhaps a hint of demented homicidality or malice is unlike anything I've ever really seen. Put it this way: I've seen plenty of horror films, but nothing in those films come anywhere near how frightening that man was.

Like the film itself, there's an air of mystery that surrounds the character. No, a cloud of complexity would be more apt. Seriously fantastic filmmaking... hopefully we'll return to this low-key greatness one day, devoid of over hyped and over marketed dribble that we see today. Julianne Moore was superb and the direction was visionary, the talent of Todd evident in every frame.

That strange man, who was only shown twice in the movie, but who can also be seen on the poster, was quite intriguing indeed. I expected to learn more about him, but no such luck. Perhaps it was the right choice, so his mystery was preserved.
