Does anyone know if and/or when this moview may come out on DVD?

Did you manage to get a copy of this film?

It's just available as a videotape, but they sell it for over 20 pounds 'cause it is so rare. I hope that they release a DVD one day... most films are available, just never they really good ones!

FYI, I was able to get this on VHS (quite inexpensively, too) and took it to a video transfer place to get it put onto DVD. As long as you own the VHS and are not planning to sell or transfer the DVD, it's perfectly legal. It cost about $30 and the transfer quality was surprisingly good.

I don't see why this hasn't been released on DVD. It was fantastic. The coming of age story is beautiful in and of itself, but what really made the story was the underpinning of the divisions in Ireland and the incredible (negative, if you ask me) impact of the Catholic church on life choices and belief systems.

Keeslar, Brophy and Finney really made this movie.
