A gem!

I really liked it. If it hadn't been for Netflix I probably never would have seen it (no promotion of Netflix intended).

Its book origins are obvious throughout, which adds some theatrics to the otherwise rather realistic (read: unromanticized) depiction of how life could be both at the top and the bottom at the time.

If anything the story shows how fast and often uncontrollably you can move between life's extremes.

In my opinion one of Robert's better roles.
