Time frame continuity with Problem Child 2

Okay, everyone has seen the movie knows by now Annie, Trixie and LaWanda were nowhere to be seen, and the only reference seemed to be when Big Ben told Ben Jr. "No wonder your wife left you." So it's assumed Annie divorced him and took Trixie with her.
So what is the time frame? How long after PC2 does this take place? Apparently Ben and Junior still live in Mortville, same exact house, same school (its actually a different school, just considered to be the same one), Peabody, Ben Sr. and Murph return and Murph is still in the same grade. Anyone have an idea?

Don't know. Watching now on HBO GO. They have all three right now. I can only assume it was a year later being that junior got moved up to the 4th or 5th grade. U can't remember which from part 2. Maybe he failed a grade.

Well, Murph is supposed to NEVER graduate since he's mentally slow.
