Lesley Sharp

I first saw her in Afterlife series 2 shown here in the UK it is a supernatural drama. I think she is great in it and this PS episode. Underrated in my opinion.

I hadn`t seen her in anything else. But she did a great job in Prime Suspect. I just loved that eyebrow thing when she was confessing.

She plays Ophelia in Kenneth Brannaugh's production of Hamlet. She does the same thing, when Ophelia goes mad. She is also in an episode of Touch of frost, doing similar tricks. It must be her main casting point.

In the Hamlet film Branagh made in 1996 Ophelia is played by Kate Winslet.

Lesley Sharp is brilliant. I realize the OP was years ago and hopefully they know now she isn't under-rated because she is quite popular.

Check out Scott & Bailey, returning for a 3rd series in 2013.

For her early work I really enjoyed Playing the Field (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0144728). Lots of likeable folks in that which we saw more of as the years went by.

Bob and Rose (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0295071) is also Highly recommended.

I got actresses confused and thought the OP was referring to Beatie Edney, who I thoguht had played Ophelia. Turns out I was still wrong. She was in Highlander, though, which is where I first encountered her work.

That said, Lindsey Sharpe was quite good, as are all of the actors. Robert Glenister does amazing work in what couldn't have been an easy role.

Fortunately, Ah keep mah feathers numbered for just such an emergency!

No complaints about her but I thought Beatie Edney stole the show.

The revelations of her character certainly did, but I couldn't help feeling her performance was like an acting school exercise. Her last monologue didn't feel organic at all -- I thought the mechanics were too evident.

You might very well think that. I couldn't possibly comment.

Lesley Sharp is great. Always does quality work.

For those who don't get to see a lot of Brit TV, you might also recognise her as one of the group of Jack the Ripper's victims in From Hell.
