I found the end to "Phenomenon" a bit unsatisfying. If Travolta's character possessed the genius and power to do all that he does in the film, why couldn't he use those powers to deal with a certain situation at the end? To me, the writers and filmmakers took the easy way out by giving us a "realistic" ending. In short, they played it safe.
That actually would have been a good movie. Idiot gets intellect boosting brain cancer, which makes him smart enough to cure said cancer, but makes him a healthy dumb dumb again.
