Jeremy: Any similarity to the life of Michael Jackson?

I wondered if MJ was even offered the part, because I could not help but notice the similarity of Jeremy's character to some aspects of Michael Jackson's life.
Before you ridicule me for having such a ridiculous notion, think about it as you watch it again. I feel Jeremy carries some of the wisdom that MJ had.

Is this about the hat thing again??? A lot of people wear hats, not everyone wears a trucker hat damn! What similarity?? Michael was a his dad's dream he couldn't make for himself. Joseph wanted to be a star but couldn't so he made his kids stars. Mike never got to be a kid, a lot of child stars are weird the Coreys, Drew you know them. Mike just had self hating issues. Much like a anorexic. Powder lived in a basement cause he was born diffrent. He felt like an outsider cause he was sheltered from the nature of man. Besides the hat and skin tone what similarities? BTW Mike had all those zoo animals running around his yard like they were his pets. Powder never would have been kosher with that.

You'd have to spend a long time to find any wisdom in the life and death of Michael Jackson. Plus his life, whether through his own doings or those of others, was all about vanity and self-indulgence, both of which would have been completely alien to Jeremy's desires.

I understand what your asking. You know Its funny because I too was reminded of MJ for some reason. The seen where Jeremy transfer the dears pain reminded me of how Jackson felt about animals. I wouldn't say Powder had Mjs wisdom but I can see the comparison. To the posters above me Mike was a very thoughtful human being. I cant name one celeb whos spent over a million on charity. Mike always talked about how we were all connected. He was always talking about nature. I was also reminded of Mj when ever Powder was ridiculed.

By the way Im sure Michael couldve been a lot worse when it came to self indulgence but how would you react if the whole world went crazy every time they see u? For a self indulgent person I think its safe to say he did a lot of selfless things. Not perfect but give the man some credit.

Anyway, great movie. Dont know why I wanted to watch it again after so ong but im glad i did.

If somebody ask are you ticklish, wether you say yes or no...they're going to touch you.

I remember watching this movie with my mom and dad back in 1995/96 I was about 13 years old. I love Michael Jackson and I remember my dad said "he look like he could be Michael Jackson". Powder and Michael were both very different from each other.

Yes! This is what I was referring to. Glad you got it.

Interesting!
The director was accused - like MJ - of child molesting.
