The sequels suck

How come none of the poison ivy movies coincide with each other there is just too many overlooked things

It only needs to be watched for the sex.

I agree, the first 'Poison Ivy' was a real movie, an artistic and great looking film. I actually saw this in the theatre. The sequels are just made for TV/video junk. I don't even acknowledge the "sequels". Drew Barrymore's 'Poison Ivy' is one of my favorite films.

I didn't like Poision Ivy II, but I liked part 1 and 3.

Part 2 was ok. I liked the basic idea - a girl trying to be like Ivy. But sadly its potential wasnt fulfilled, at all. The original movie left quite an impact, with its beautiful music, and memorable lead characters. Sigh!...

As for this one, I couldnt figure out how why Ivy's
diary is lying in that place and how come the diary was written in 1998 when the original movie came out in 1992? The voice narrating the diary didnt sound anything like Drew. that faceless naked blonde dint look anything like Drew....there was really no connection. They might as well have named this movie something else.

The original Ivy was quite a mystery and I was hoping that the sequel would reveal something about her background. But alas !

Alyssa Milano is very pretty btw. She looked so tiny

reply

Alyssa is quite a good actress and is probably the only reason to watch considering how bad the movie is. Plus her body is killer.

I agree, the first Poison Ivy movie was good, the sequels I didn't like at all.

This one connects to the orginal through Ivy's diary ( what her diary was doing in that place is beyond me? Like was that place "suppose" to be Coop's old house?) but it's continuity is outta whack considering Ivy died in 1992 and this one takes place in 1996 yet the diary tells a different year?

The third Poison Ivy backtracks all that happened in the first by introducing us to Ivy's younger sister Violet. It's acknowledge in this film about Ivy's death and it seems that they are making Violet even more over the top than Ivy but a continuity error here the film flashes back to 1987 where Ivy is 9 and Violet is 8 and PI took place in 1992 which is 5 yrs difference so then she's what 14? There is no way she was 14 having sex with Darryl. 16 maybe even 15 (which is über creepy) so yeah i can find some canon things regarding the three films.

At least they acknowledge Ivy in the unlike the train wreck of Poison Ivy 4: the secret society which had NOTHING to do with the series and is only banking on the ivy name. Of course the lead in this film has a flower-esque name DAISY and the elite clique pursuing her is called the IVYS.
I write off the 4th one as its not canon with the trilogy and is not part of the series in any way; location, characters or plot.

In thought this would be good because I like Alyssa Milano (and damn was she fiiiine in it) and also Johnathon Scaetch was hot as hell, but man was it boring! Took me 3 times to get through it as I kept falling asleep, fail!
