Filming locations?

I've always wondered where they filmed this version. It looks like some of it was filmed at Castaic lake near Valencia, CA, but not all of it. Does anyone know where, what lake/river this was filmed at?

i know the original was shot in San Marcos, TX and the 3d version was shot at Lake Havasu, AZ.

Yes, Castaic Lake is cited as the official shooting site. Since it was a low-budget flick, additional scenes must've been done in the same general area of greater Los Angeles, possibly a movie ranch in Santa Clarita.
