Just watched this

I don't think I ever saw this movie as a kid, which is weird, since I must have watched The Secret of NIMH, The Land Before Time, and All Dogs Go To Heaven about a million times each. I just got it from Netflix and watched it for the first time. Watched it with my girlfriend...she hated it. And I've got to admit, it's not one of Don Bluth's better films. It has a great premise that isn't carried to it's full potential, the Barry Manilow tunes are pretty mediocre - and what's up with that insanely buff, caped penguin villain?

Still, I can't help loving this movie in spite of its faults, and there must be others who feel the same way about it.

Don't worry, I'm 18 and I still like it, despite it's flaws. :)
Come to think of it, it's actually kind of addicting... >->

I never seen a single flaw in the film, but I've been loving it since I was 6 years old. I'm glad Netflix had it, or else I would of forgotten those good memories I had seeing it so much from VHS back in the 90s.

I'm 19, and I loved it when I was a kid. Watching it now, I was a touch disappointed, but I don't think it's bad or even mediocre. I'm with you, OP. Much under-appreciated.
