From reading the summary, I wish to ask if the movie says or anywhere says WHY the locals killed his parents. Why were they angry?

The trailer looks stupid. Like the character is based on some kind of old out of style Religion stereotype. I've never even met someone like that.

Or did you miss ex-Gov Palin with her "casting out of the witches" meetings at taxpayer's expense? Actually,Wicca,practiced correctly,glorifies the mother figure,as do many sub-cults in Christianity,etc. like worship of the Virgin Mary and Our Lady of Lourdes and the Virgin of Guadelupe. I don't remember seeing any obvoius hints throughout but I do remember wondering if that were the case because of his unstable demeanor and the apparent fear he exuded when they appeared to him.
