Does anybody know where exactly in Germany this has been filmed? To me it really doesn't make any sense at all to bring an entire crew from the US to Germany to make a movie which easily could have been shot somewhere in the Adirondacks, NY, or some in other wooded area like Maine or NC.

BTW I am originally from Germany, but wouldn't have recognized the location. I only know for sure that a recent movie on the 3 musketeers has been filmed in Germany.

I grew up in Lower Saxony (Braunschweig), but never made it to Dresden or Goerlitz.
However, my grandparents lived near Leipzig in former East Germany, but I'm not sure if Leipzig is a part of Saxony. However, the people all speak Saxon there which I learned to understand since I was little and we started visiting my dad's parents once a year.
Dresden is on our wish list of trips in the future.
