Was Racism really that bad in that period ?

Was this an accurate depiction of racism in that era ? was it worse ? Did the police really kill unarmed black people? I thought Mississippi Burning was a raw depiction of racism but good lord this was brutal

It was worse... If the film were to be accurate, it would have had an NC17 rating.

It was worse. And the police still do kill unarmed black people. You really didn't know about how bad it was in the era of lynchings and everything else? Americans do seem to forget how devastating it has been on this country.

Yeah after reading articles from that period , yeah this movie was definitely the cleaned Up version...Oakland was definitely the Bay Areas hotbed of racism. The police force had virtually no diversity at all

Less racism, and more like proactively ridding towns of crime, with the usual dindu's claiming they were good boys. Once police stopped proactively stamping out criminals, it spread and now cities are 3rd world dystopias. Cops used to break the law to get the job done but now they can't even do their jobs half the time, and just allow crime to run rampant to protect their jobs and lives since more cops die to criminals than the other way around like poor Fentanyl Floyd swallowed his stash to prevent a charge, and it wound up killing him and making his poor kids be fatherless, oh wait.
