Why is an AKA for this movie "The Hills Have Eyes 3"

reply

Because it's the 3rd film in the Hills Have Eyes series. Whether it's in league with Army of Darkness (differant title, definately a sequel) or The Android (whatever's it's called, sequel to Masters of the Universe, redone to be it's own film) is unknown. I haven't seen this movie, but from what the synopsis is describing, it seems to basically be a sequel to the Hills Have Eyes films, which either way, kinda hard to bring back the same characters as the villains were killed off pretty much throughout the films.

For whatever reason, at the zero hour, Wes Craven decide not to name it The Hills Have Eyes 3, and instead changed the title.

Well they do find a mangled up body and inject it with something to make it stronger...I'm assuming that the body they find was originally a person that was pretty much dead in the first two films, but then was written in this movie as just some random half-dead dude. As it's never exactly explained as to why the guy was half-dead to begin with.

Whether a grain of sand or a rock, in water they both sink alike.

at least Army of Darkness had the same actor in it, if it wasn't for imdb would anyone have known this was intended to be a 3rd in the series? i think's not.
and Cyborg supposed to be MOTU2? they are so different from each other its ridiculous. where's he-man? greyskull? can't have MOTU without that.

in the movie sections it doesn't say that this follow's the other 2 movies...but then again this can't always be right. Honestly though, if this site didn't have the "aka Hills Have Eyes 3" section on it, would you really ever question this being a part of the series or not? I think NOT.

See you in the funny papers.

Uh, this is being released with parts 1 and 2 in a 4 disc dvd edition as The Hills Have Eyes III, so there's no doubt now.

oh well how cool, isn't this movie horrible though?

should this be remade as The Hills Have Eyes 3? After all the 80's and '07 sequels sucked.

reply

So it is a legitimate sequel and not a completely unrelated film they just slapped 'The Hills Have Eyes' name onto it just to make some money?

I've been waiting for you, Ben.

Pluto did fall in Part 2, so I guess they did change it. I just got my copy off eBay, a used VHS from a video store in Florida.

If this was part 3, I did hear Ruby would've been the only former member to return. I wish they did make a third film to the original movie. I wouldn't mind a new one though, but what's her face who played Ruby apparently wanted to come back if she could. Her 'death' as left a mystery in the second film.

They should have titled this "The Hills Had Ears."

This isn't a sequel to The Hills Have Eyes. Same director involved, similar setting, but that's all. Foreign markets often re-title movies in an effort to boost sales. That's the reason why you'll only find this movie titled The Hills Have Eyes 3 in other countries and NOT the U.S.. Incidentally, Terminator 2 was a sequel made by Italians BEFORE James Cameron made his infamous Terminator 2. Officially, this is just a stand alone film.
