I am only 3 chapters in and cannot decide whether or not this is a very loose representation of Robin Cook's 1987 Outbreak? Some parts I think it is, other parts I'm not so sure. Can anyone tell me if it is in fact based on the book? This is just for my sheer curiosity.

It's been years since I read Outbreak, but if I remember correctly, there were a few similarities, but that was all. I did however remember thinking it was incredibly close to another story of his, but it wasn't called Outbreak. Go figure? Anyway, your post is pretty old, and no doubt you worked it all out for yourself. It would be good if you followed up and let other people who may be wondering the same thing, what you found out :)
shareYeah, the deeper I go into the book the faster I realized that that was all their were; similarities. But on a high now, the book would make a nice thriller film. They would have to name it something else of course, but it would make for a great film :-)

All you have to do is read the Questions part of the IMDb to find out that it is NOT based on a book but is an original screenplay. Geeze! Does anybody ever actually research something before they post? Happens on every movie!
