At the end of the Spanish-language version of this movie there was a title stating it was based on a true story. Anybody know anything about that?

The movie was loosely based on what really happened. The true story is the Special Forces had borrowed some elephants from a village and since the elephants belonged to the village people they had to be returned, but the problem was that there really was no safe ground passage to the village because of VC so they decided to hoist the elephants under a chinook helicopter and airlift them one by one to the village.
shareSpecial Forces (green berets) did many things in Vietnam to win hearts & minds of local people. SF did one hell of a job there.
