BEST MOVIE EVER!!!!

This is by far the most accurate movie ive in awhile. Danny Glover does a phenominal acting job. Also ray liota is a bad mofo in the movie.

I don't know about the 'most accurate movie' but it is a hoot to watch and it's nice to see a tongue in cheek 'action movie' set during a war, that serves as comedy and does not involve blood and gore. I really love the part where the spc. calls fire support on the river and times it perfectly to impact on the NVA patrolboat. Great cast also.

First rate film! I really enjoyed it. Disney should do more stuff like it.

Vietnam for kids. Bad concept but they make it work. They give it suspense and drama without taking it too far.

reply

By far the best movie ever...How do I know? I haven't even seen it and I know it is...

They should make a movie there they deliver camels in Iraq

I saw this movie years ago, and all that sticks with me is how Danny Glover and Ray Liotta were yelling at each other a lot. Wasn't there a part where they used a helicopter to airlift the elephant at one point?

You know there was actually a movie in the early 1970s based on a true story in which the US cavalry investigated using camels in the Southwest US. It was a comedy.

reply

The movie about the US camel corps is "Hawmps!" from 1976. But, the US Camel Corps was a real thing in the 1850s.

reply

Dude the movie was made in 1995 :P

This is the first movie I remember seeing in a cinema, I know me and my sister went and watched this and my mom and dad watched golden eye... :) It's a pretty decent movie! Not the best movie ever though.

reply

i knew the guy that was involved in the true story and the movie is a complete farce, he went crazy because of the war

reply

Honestly ive always liked it.. its kind of a dumb movie . but i still enjoy it alot especially Dennis Leary and Doug E Doug i have always liked this movie

reply

Probably not the best movie ever, but it's always nice to see some NVA blowing up. And also it brings to the audience the nature of SF missions.

It was great. Its like Apocalypse Now for kids. A PG war movie that can be used to teach kids about the Vietnam War. I saw it all the time as a kid and I still like it now. It made me aware that the Vietnam War took place, but it wasn't too graphic for kids. The IMDB rating needs to be higher.

I agree, it's a nice little family-oriented popcorn flick made by Disney. I wasn't really expecting anything out of this world when I had seen it with my father back in 1995.

I was flipping through my DVD collection a few days ago and stumbled upon this movie. I had a few hours to kill and decided to pop it in my DVD/Blu-ray player. I was curious to see this on my HDTV since we originally rented the VHS over 20 years ago.

To this day, I'm still puzzled as to why this movie receives so much flack. You have A-list actors like Danny Glover, Ray Liotta, and, to some extent, Denis Leary. I know I thoroughly enjoyed this movie and had a lot of nostalgia when viewing it again recently.
