Funny side note

When this was being filmed, cotton was out of season. So Tim Reid's company had to pay people to glue cotton on to the branches. A picture at the time was taken of the 'cotton gluers' who were white folks paid by the company.

It made the local paper with the caption "My how the south has changed".
