Relax, the cops are fine...

*spoiler warning*

(although can anything spoil a 6-minute-MV?)

Since people are start discussing about the possibilty that the sport car stopped because the cops died from radiation-poisening, here I am sharing my own analysis.

Sometimes it is okay to be not overlay pessimistic when watching movies. The cops don’t have anywhere to go in the abandon wilderness after releasing the girl, so it is just natural to stop. If they were actually sick, we would definitely see some symptoms (I think including throwing up right?) when the girl is flying away..

Since the city seems to be covered under some big dome, and considering the “beware of sunlight” sign, does it means that the wilderness is danger also because it is unprotected from the ultra-violet from sunlight, assuming the ozone layer is totally gone by then? If so, then the cops may catch cancer sometimes, but there is no way that this will lead to some sudden death.

Yeah, and I think Miyazaki said in some interview that the two police guys lived. Maybe that angel girl is Nausicaa's great-great-great grandmother or something. They look almost the same. And then maybe Fio is the angel girl's great-great-great grandmother or something. That would help my all-the-Ghibli-movies-are-related idea.

I'm sure that the cops do not die during the film, they've just pulled over to watch. Radiation sickness wouldn't kill both of them so quickly! I expect that they would not be all too healthy in the aftermath though; not to mention that the city probably wouldn't be very welcoming when they returned.

But I think the whole point is that they're so set on their goal of releasing the girl that considerations of their own health are put completely aside.

Y'know, I bet the radiation isn't all that bad anymore. They built that cover over the reactor, and judging by the overgrowth in the town, it's probably been a while since the leak.

Um, actually, I think the cops died in the city as their tank fell into the abyss, and they encouraged the girl to fly.

But the girl (the person of bird, the angel) decided things had to end differently. How she did that? Dunno, maybe just imagination, maybe secret powers, or whatever - it's a 6 minute video that should be a movie.

The girl couldn't alter anything. She was kept prisoner by the cultists and then by the government. The police intervention, was so that the government could take custody of her, perhaps for experimentation. There are alternate endings. There are also alternate endings in movies like The Terminator and Terminator 2, in TV shows like 24 and in literature like Great Expectations.

Irony is like goldy or bronzy, but it's made of iron.

lol too much analyzing here. I never thought it was anything except that the cops stopped to watch the girl fly away. People read too much into simple things.
