why did this film go straight to video in the uk?

I know someone got shot but I cant remember why it got pulled a month before it was due to realised in the cineman in UK? PLEASE HELP ME FIGURE OUT WHY IT WASNT REALISED AT THE CINEMA?! (Not just because it is a bad film, there was a genuine reason!)
