Never Talk To Strangers: Almost Hitchcockian?

I saw this movie and I swear this almost felt like a Hitchcock movie, but more modern. The ending (which I won't spoil) confirms it for me. If you get a chance, watch this movie and view it with that in mind.

Alright but apart from the innovation/experimentation, skillful pacing, suspense, dry humour, wit, creativity, intelligent cleverness, amazing use of devices/themes/motifs and genius plot structures, what has Hitchcock ever done for us?

"Easy there chief, I don't see 'hollow-point wound care' on the menu."

"...what has Hitchcock ever done for us?"

He gave us the term "Hitchcockian."

Wait, he only inspired that, he didn't really coin it. So, no, he never did anything for us. Sorry.

You guys are just hilarious ahah, but this movie gave me the same feeling anyways... I keep telling everyone to watch it, but as soon as I say Banderas, everyone laughs at me :(

This flick is like a plugged up toilet that never overflows: it just stinks beyond belief!

Nothing is more beautiful than nothing.

Where can I get a copy or download the soundtrack to this movie? I particularly want Sarah's Theme (opening music) and Never Talk (closing theme). Thanks

Well, it's on channel 56 here in LA/Orange county area tonight so I'll watch it based upon the idea that it's sort of Hitchcock-like. I'll consider it okay if even slightly Hitchcockian.

But I must warn you, if it's not there will be H*** to pay!!

Well, I watched it and wasn't too impressed. I would say that if Hitchcock had the script, he'd certainly have made some changes, if he even decided to do it at all.

Pretty turgid melodrama, decent enough viewing but not up to Hitchcock standards at all, though I get the effort by the director or producer to style it after Hitch. It has some nice Hitchcock-influenced artistry, but is well lacking on Hitchcock-styled suspense, plus Hitch's morals regarding 'evil' never prevailing. Don't expect something quasi-Hitchcock and you'll be okay with it.

I agree with you.

It was like a Hitchcock movie but instead of being good it decided to be a gigantic, steaming pile of $hit. What an embarrassing, all around inept movie.

Just about every thriller aspires to be Hitchcockian, but few succeed. Despite all the negative comments here, I think this was a very entertaining, though very ridiculous, thriller – a great way to kill an hour and a half. 7/10 stars from me.

I totally see that! I did not see that coming... It definitely gave me goosebumps. I always ready the IMDB reviews before watching a movie and I almost decided not to see this one because the rating is so poor but said eh what the hell because Rebecca D. is stunningly gorgeous, a young Antonio Banderas and also I just love 90s flicks in general. I am really surprised, I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. I enjoyed it a lot more than Fatal Attraction which is praised and hailed as the best 90s thriller out there...
