What was Angela's history?
Why was she so alone, why did she see a therapist? There was a whole back story to her that never was explored. Seemed like she'd had some serious hurt in the past, but they never really explained it.

Angela was traumatized by 4 events:
1) her father walking out on her and her mother;
2) her mother developing Alzheimers disease and being institutionalized.
3) one romantic relationship that didn't end well;
4) developing a romantic relationship with her therapist, which also ended badly.
Her family fell apart, a relationship with her first love ended badly, and then her therapist became a surrogate father/lover, and this too turned sour.
Angela found herself without a family, distrustful of others, and in a job that allowed her to work from home. As such, she became a recluse. Its very plausible that as such, people didn't know her.
