Unsurprising that general audiences are resistant to cinematic poetry...


... but still woefully sad. Davies may fall back a little too hard on his typical tricks here, but he does it so damn well. Few filmmakers today possess such a sense of visual poetry, and The Neon Bible is, for the most part, absolutely entrancing, with indelible images and an enveloping mood.
