WHAT?!?!?!!?!?!?

El Caleuche is well known to be a chilean myth from Chiloe, an island located in central-southern Chile, nowhere near la patagonia, and it has nothing to do with any austral mythology or argentinian legends whatsoever!
Mapuches are also mainly chilean, so when this statements came to me, i was kinda shocked

I have nothing against the argentinian people, don´t get me wrong, but i was just a bit surprised when i found about this; i´m just trying to make clear that someone has mad quite a mistake here...
