This film has moments of humour

Some of the reviews would have people believe this film lacks humour and so fails to live up to the (false) promise that it's the French equivalent of Trainspotting.

Well, there is humour to be found but it's nuanced. E.g. the scenes when Benoit arrives at the army camp and he's playing a role that he hopes will see him relieved of the need to do military service. Or later when he goes to Amsterdam with Omar and they are having a threesome with a woman/prostitute.

This film's plots and themes are NOTHING like Trainspotting. I'm not sure how this rumour started; probably from a company distributing the film.

The distance is nothing. The first step is the hardest.
