Best ever Movie for Kevin Bacon

This movie is one of the best movie i have ever seen Kevin Bacon Preform like that.
I wonder why he didn't receive a nomination for his role.
even though if he didn't won the Oscar, at least give him a nomination for his performance.
and i still don't know why???!

We can't give an Oscar nomination to someone every time they do a movie where they have to act as someone who is mentally disturbed. I'm not saying that you're necessarily suggesting this, but think for a moment about why you think this performance is so much better than so many other acting jobs. Well, the role was made for heavy drama, and yes, he does a nice job acting it out. That's all though.

I see.

Because the Oscars are a joke. Have you watched them lately? They are giving gangster rappers Oscars. They have no merit whatsoever. It doesn't matter what they think. The fans know whats up and that's what really matters. Best acting performance I've ever seen!

"Action: I won."
"Reaction: You can never take that away from me Mr. Glenn."

tjernste, do you know how difficult it is to portray a mentally disturbed person? So you're saying that the Academy can't give out oscar noms and oscars for every mentally disturbed performance, but they can give them out for every gangster and bi-opic role? That doesn't make sense...

Silence is golden...

Should I interpret what you're saying to mean that the Academy should give out Oscar nominations for every performance that features an actor playing a character with a mental disorder? I don't think that's what you think, just like I think that different performances have different value for different reasons, whether the performance is of someone with a mental disorder or not.

There are only 5 performances in a year that are nominated for Best Actor Oscars. Further, as a poster above states, the Oscars are overrated anyway. The Academy probably do overvalue gangster or bio-pic roles, just like they overvalue roles by actors playing characters with mental disorders.
