Yes, it is more than possible especially if the spoon has been sharpened on a rock or concrete. Remember, prisoners have nothing but time. Some of the weapons taken from prisoners is amazing. If you think a spoon sounds unlikely, how about a ball point pen, or a tooth brush? How about beating somebody to death with a sock and a bar of soap? Most anything can be turned into a lethal weapon by somebody who is desperate and has time on his hands.
