Welcome Back Class of 1980

I am just curious about this banner at the front of the school. I am assuming that it means Welcome back for another school year, this is the class of 1980? I have been confused in the past thinking it was a reunion (I know that that would not match the timeframes in the film, but have thought maybe there was flash forwards and flash backs).

Maybe it was a way to tell us what year it was.

I think he started there in 65.

lol yes it was to identify what year we are viewing. It is just saying welcome back to school for the senior classmen

Cool. That is what I thought it was saying when I posted here. Was just not 100% sure.

Yeah, it is the fall of 1979 so the next graduating class would be the Class of 1980. Some schools do this. Hell, colleges do this.
