Is it true bout' that train station robbery?

Rumor got it there was someone who actually did what Torch did
Went to the subway, sprayed kerosene to the attendant and tried to lit em on fire
Ironically, the attendant had seen the movie(Money Train) and the culprit was apprehended
Was this true?

I shot the sheriff and the goddamn deputy

Partly correct.

It was in Brooklyn, but the station agent died in the fire.

The guy who lit fire to the booth, was flat out imitating the torch from Money Train, not the movie's fault of course, but the guy was copycatting a character from the movie.
