Between two running trains?

When John (Wesley Snipes) jumps from the platform across the rails and gets trapped between two trains running on each side of him in opposite directions... he's not holding onto anything. Wouldn't he have been blown away by the force? I commute from Brooklyn to Manhattan everyday, and the force of one train (if I'm standing close enough) blows me back. 2 trains on each side would have surely did more damage to him than shown. There's no way he would have been able to remain there without holding on to something.

You could argue that the two trains were going at the same speed and in opposite directions, so they force was canceled out.

I would disagree here. When two trains are passing each other, going in opposite directions I always here the air wave slamming at the train I am in and it shakes a little. On the other hand trains at the station are either already slowing down, or just speeding up. So I guess it wouldn't be that bad and he could actually stand there.
I wouldn't want to try it tough.
