Highly underrated!

Come on. Admit it. This is a great movie. 4 out of 5 in my book.

I give it a 3.5/5. Good mix of action and comedy. Snipes and Harrellson should do more movies together. They're about due.

The only thing this movie had going for it was Snipes and Harrelson. It's too bad they were in such an awful vehicle. The script was ridiculous, the direction was amateur, and the other characters were so cookie cutter silly it was laughable.
But most amazing is how the story glorified Harrelson's character who was nothing more than an out-of-control loser who seemed to find it funny that a few hundred passengers and transit cops were endangered by his brilliant idea of stealing a train from those as dimwitted as him.
This movie wouldve been right at home in the 80's as a second tier clone to 48 Hrs and Lethal Weapon. But it probably wouldve been laughed at then, much less 10 years later.

iagree! the wesley/snipes combo is a winner! i ride the trainevery day to workle and i really like trains!

Agree. Wesley and Woody have great chemistry and the action was top notch. Saw it tonight after 15 years and thought it's underrated as hell.

Same here -- I saw this in '95 and thought "meh." Watched it tonight on cable (uncut) and really enjoyed it. True, there are major brain farts in the plot (to name two: The ticket booth collector survived the attack by the Torch, so why didn't they have a detailed description of him? And why would EVERY cop guard get off the money train at a collection point, leaving only the old, unarmed driver for Woody's character to contend with?) But Snipes and Harrelson are great, it has some snappy dialog ("I was saving this money for a rainy day -- and it's raining, Charlie") and the subway chase scene at the end is spectacular. And if there was a hotter woman on the planet in 1995 than Jennifer Lopez, I can't imagine who it was.

I would say 4/5 also. I like the bond between the actors, as well as the music, action, dialogue, plot devices and story situations. The opening is one of my favorite from any film...it teases the viewer and jumps right into the action.
