after re-watching most of my 10/10 ratings, this one of the few, very few, that remains. I can watch it over and over and I can't find fault. hits the high notes like few other movies can...

Any details on what you liked so much about it?
I gave it a 2/10. I even gave it a second change and I just couldn't get into it either time I watched it. I thought I would love it since I work in a library, love and collect books, enjoy writing, and even minored in English at University. Instead, I found it to be boring and soporific. This is the first project connected to Hayao Miyazaki that I didn't care for. :(

well, it's a well made movie: good plot, good characters, no flaws, almost no unnecessary scenes etc.
but I guess the values of hard work and pushing yourself are what really separate this film in my opinion, that and and Country Road :)
