Question about the music! URGENT!

Ok.. I got this one nagging question... haunting me for years now.

In the scene where everything goes downhill in Magnetic Rose with the big implosion, there's some very dramatic Aria played, but I definately know it's NOT from Madama Butterfly... I got the CD... I also checked Tosca from Puccini but I can't find it on there either.

Still, I think it MUST be by Puccini.. hell *beep* am I missing something here? Please anybody help me... Which Opera and which act and which name...

I uploaded the audio of the scene to, this is what im talking about:

Not sure about this, but at least some parts of the score have been composed by Yôko Kanno; I think the chorale at the end (and at the beginning) of the movie were composed by her. Maybe also the part you're talking about ?

I have the Memories OST CD. The leaflet doesn't mention Pucini or Madama Butterfly. Here is all what is written for Magnetic Rose :

MAGNETIC ROSE
lyrics by Gabriela Robin
music by Yôko Kanno
produced by Yôko Kanno, Toyohiko Kanehashi
engineered by Tom Parker, Masashi Yabuhara
soprano : Kaoru Nishino
orchestra : Members of Czech Philharmonic Orchestra
orchestra conducted by Mario Klemens
chorus : Prag Philharmonic Choir
chorus conducted by Pavel Kühr
sax : Yasuaki Shimizu
e.guitar : Tsuneo Imahori (appears by courtesy of PONY CANYON INC.)
baritone : Masamichi Yabunishi
sound architect : Keishi Urata
noise organized by Hideoki Mogi
music co-produced by Toshiaki Ota

The aria Eva sings, "Un bel di vedremo" is composed by Puccini, and is from the opera Madama Butterfly.

But I don't think the part you're talking about is Puccini's.

It bugs me no end when a soundtrack doesn't cover all the music on a film, The Big Lebowski ST has similar ommissions.

The magic answer is "Tu, tu piccolo iddio"

This was so annoying for me as well. Turns out it IS from Madama Butterfly, but oddly it's named differently on different versions or something? For example, I have one recording of Madama Butterfly where this appears nowhere on it. But then I found other recordings where it does.

This answer is one decade too late, but I hope it helps others.

PS - It IS an awesome aria.
