One Small Problem...... *Spoilers*

I really liked this film, but there's one thing that doesn't make sense to me.

Angus was at the mine when Margaret's husband and Jimmy were killed, even though he had admitted burning down the company store and was out on bail.

I could see that he might be out on bail while waiting for trial or sentencing, but would the mine really have let him go back to work there after he burned their store to the ground?......
