Whats your local shopping mall called?

whats your local shopping mall called? is it anything like the mall in this movie?

reply

My mallratting consisted of:

San Antonio - Windsor Park Mall (now gone)
San Antonio - North Star Mall (still thriving)
Houston - Baybrook Mall (still thriving)
Houston - Almeda Mall (on the downward slope, getting very gangsta')
Houston - San Jacinto Mall (on it's last leg, bad part of town, store's closing)

Eden Prairie Mall. And yes, once upon a time it was exactly like the mall in this movie.

It has since been completely remodeled and is barely recognizable.

Smithhaven mall in Lake Grove Ny And yes as a child in the late eighties and nineties I always saw teens in big groups hanging out every Friday and Saturday night. When I was a preteen and teen in the mid to late nineties it was still the place to be! I'd go and meet up with a big group of friends, meet guys, buy Cd's hang out by the arcade, and cause all kinds of trouble. The mall is still there and looks pretty much the same but the arcade has been shut down,a lot of cool stores have closed and been replaced by expensive stores like Coach,Michael Korrs etc. I rarely see teens hanging out in big groups anymore. Now on Fri-Sat nights its just soccer moms and little kids. The whole atmosphere has changed. :(

We're defiantly not in the 90's anymore. My local mall pet store closed, music stores, arcade and half of the food court is empty. The only cool thing is the used CD dvd book store. I spend hours in there.

Nearest indoor mall, which is a standard indoor mall last I checked and similar in basic aspects to the one from the movie, is called the Galleria. I imagine whoever named it didn't have much of an imagination.
