Inappropriate for young children

Please note that this film is rated PG for language. I know this is certainly not the first children's film to contain foul language, nor will it be the last, but in reviewing this board and seeing nothing in the way of a warning to the parents, I thought they should know.

Whether this film is rated PG or whatever, it clearly targets an age range of no more than 10, and it really is not at all approporiate for that age. I was stunned within the first five minutes of the film at what the little girl said while listening to her dad's radio talk show. A woman was commenting that little girls played with dolls, and little boys played with -- and the little girl answered "themselves."

This girl, probably around eight years old, should have no idea what that even means. How completely shameful.

The word s**t was also used a few times. Watch at your children's risk.

I just watched this with my 2 nieces, ages 6 & 10. It's totally benign, with the one exception of that comment you mentioned that the girl makes while listening to the radio show. Otherwise, it's definitely appropriate for kids in the 6 to 10 range...after 10, they won't be interested in this.

That is a great joke for a family film.
If you are an innocent child, then it goes right over your head.
If you get it, then you're not that innocent, and the joke does not make you less so.

Boys are not very social so they go off and do things by themselves. As a more social female she can not quite understand that. I don't understand how that is age inappropriate. But maybe with your mind you saw it differently...

OK, actually I agree with jbowmore.

While it's true that the character may have been too young to understand the double meaning of the joke she was saying, I can assure you the adults, writers, and makers of this film were not. It certainly didn't go over THEIR heads. However, I still find no great offense in it, and as was already mentioned, this joke will go far over the heads of small children and causes no harm.

Wow well you have quite the dirty mind to think of it that way cause i severly doubt that is the way they wanted to do it.

Boys like to play by themselves more then what girls do, not touch themselves.

and yea if they are under 10 and understand that then the parent has problems for what they let them watch. my brother who is 11 didn't get that part because my parents dont let him watch whatever he wants like most parents do and thats the problem.
