Trying to explain the strange feeling (?) (may contain spoilers)

After watching this brilliant film, I caught myself to have a strange feeling trying to explain it. This film leaves you with a gap, leaves you with a big question. As the movie goes on and you empathize the main-character more and more you are wondering as she does "Why?". Why did he took his life?. Of course this question remains to you unanswered as her husband didn't give any sights of desperation and you didn't know the character so well to figure out.
What remains is you trying to find the reasons of such an act (but you cant)

This is my pure explanation on the feeling that this film left me off. Yet is so difficult to describe a strange feeling but you can at least try to interpreter or attribute it on something to make you feel more relieved.

I had the same feelings as you having watched it. I guess it does leave you feeling a little empty, but at the same time, it's such a beautiful film that like the main character, you eventually just decide you have to get on with it!

My take on it (having just seen the film) is not so much to know why he did it but to understand Yumiko's grief and her inability to explain why he killed himself.

I think we're meant to feel the same as Yumiko feels. Not knowing why.
