Very underrated
Its defintely dated but if you were a fan of this around the time it came out its still a great and underrated horror. The opening 15 minutes are amazing.
shareIt's a pretty good film. If you could clean up a few scenes, such as Nix's second death which just looks corny, it would be a lot better and more highly regarded.
The film gets points just for its style and subject matter. There's not much else out there like it. The whole main cast, from Backula to the guy who plays Butterfield, give great performances. The cinematography is good and scenes and settings like the Magic Castle are well done and full of interesting and likable characters that gives the movie a certain charm and make it infinitely re-watchable.
Too bad it didn't do so hot in theaters because I would have liked to seen more of D'Amour.
