I like this movie...It is fun to watch. It is entertaining. Sherilyn Fenn does a good job portraying Liz.
I just wish that the movie was longer. It leaves out alot of Liz's life and some of her famous friends.
I would still love to have it on DVD someday.
I so agree. I really wished that the movie focused a little bit on her close friendship with Michael Jackson. I know people may get tired of hearing about him, but I really do wish their friendship was at least mentioned.
shareEven without the additional content, this one looks like "Citizen Kane" compared to the Lindsey Lohan movie.
1- Sherilynn Fenn had the Elizabeth Taylor cackle down pat.
2- Angus whatever does a good job as Dick but really, you could turn the constant references to Wales and being Welsh into a drinking game. Not his fault, I know.
3- Kevin McCarthy was a character in the film (he was the one leading Montgomery Clift from Liz' house when Monty crashed) and played a character. I take it that he approved of this movie - or maybe he just needed the money. It was kind of cool either way.
Like you said, fun to watch and pretty good for a Lifetime movie.
Liz: The Elizabeth Taylor Story is not a Lifetime movie, it is in fact a NBC movie of the week. Liz and Dick is a Lifetime movie. Why does everyone assume that every melodramatic TV movie that comes on TV is a Lifetime movie? Remember back in the day, the networks made TV movies too.

We think of it as a Lifetime movie because NBC may have produced and premiered the movie, but Lifetime repeated the movie for years.
Then- a place in time.
Than- preference between one or the other.
