I loved the film basically but was confused on a couple of issues. (SPOIILERS)
First, did her father rape her when he caught her trying on her mother's lingerie or what was he doing?
Second, what did she do with the broken bottle on the beach?

yes, he raped her. I assume that's why he "hated" her so much. He had feelings that disgusted him, and he took them out on her. Toni's acting in this scene nearly had me crying!
she cut her wrist with the bottle. after he raped her, she seemed to detach from reality, and that's why she was walking around naked, in a daze. she might have tried to kill herself, or she just acted in the moment. either way, cutting yourself with glass you found on the beach is not a good idea. hope they took her for a tetanus shot after that.
